The biggest domino in Formula One to fall in 2023 is probably going to be Lewis Hamilton’s future, and whatever he decides to do after that will have a significant ripple effect.
A lucrative position will become available if Hamilton decides to part ways with Mercedes after winning six world championships in a successful tenure with the Silver Arrows.
Respected F1 source Leo Turrini claims that Charles Leclerc, who is now having a very tough time at Ferrari, is the person most likely to step into the gap.

Futures of Leclerc and Hamilton are uncertain.
In his most recent blog post for Quotidiano Nazionale, Turrini asserts that Leclerc, who has a contract with Maranello till the end of 2024, has already spoken with the Silver Arrows. From the Indian Ocean to the outlying garage in Maranello, everyone is aware of it.
“Carletto has displayed moments of unadulterated class so far in his career. He is the first to notice the passing of time.
What about Hamilton? Leclerc may already be weighing his options. Of course, he has recently been associated with Ferrari, and his current Mercedes deal expires at the end of 2023.
While Lewis would love nothing more than to win a record-breaking ninth championship with his Mercedes clan, Turrini claims he is unsure of how an upcoming Leclerc may impact that.

The current situation between Ferrari and Hamilton
The reputable writer continues by explaining what has previously occurred between Hamilton and Ferrari, which, according to him, was very little.
However, I am aware that Hamilton has never had a close relationship with the red team. When [Luca Di] Montezemolo was disappointed in Alonso, he gave it some thought, but Lewis had already gotten a job at Mercedes. A transaction was never made. Never.”
The current Ferrari president John Elkann, according to Turrini, inquired about Hamilton’s contract position for 2019, but the British athlete was content winning championships at Mercedes.
Until we naturally learn which direction the British star will go, the future of Hamilton (and by design Leclerc) is going to be the hottest story of the summer in Formula 1. Observe this space.
